Even though we couldn’t exactly get Charlie into the partying mood last night, we did enjoy a late night with some friends.
It’s not what you think. We didn’t go out and drink. We stayed home and played a mean game of Pictionary.
And yet today I feel hung over. Not from drinking, mind you. From cleaning up our chaotic three-boy home yesterday to make it presentable for a visit from a civilized couple.
And from staying up late. I go to bed at 9:30 p.m. 10:30 p.m. if things are completely out of control, like I am reading a book and I cannot put it down. That’s when life is just off the HOOK.
You can imagine how happy I was to open one of my training plans for Boston this morning to see this (I am using certain aspects of three different training plans and will put them together in a spreadsheet one day soon) after having hit the hay at 1 a.m.
Apparently I am required to do nothing until Saturday at which point I should just rest or cross-train.
I suppose this is due to a technical problem, but I am not going to argue.
(Anyway, there’s a little parade going on today which totally screwed up my running route.)
So I’ll just download some new music for my iPod, finish off the leftovers from last night, wash all of my workout clothes and take a nap.
After all, being prepared for the training does take a certain amount of planning.
